Michael Evans

Michael “Mike” Bruce Evans, 73, of Jackson died at his home Wednesday, July 24, 2024.

He was born Aug. 1, 1950, in Cape Girardeau, the son of Joseph Harold “Slim” and Gertrude Dunz Evans. Mike married Joan Marie Thanel on Nov. 22, 1974.

Mike was well known for his roofing business, Michael Evans Roofing, his good looks and his opinions. He was kind, supportive and occasionally stubborn. Mike lived a great life and will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Loving survivors include his wife of 49 years, Joan Evans; five children, Maria (Brian Suchman) Evans, Amos (Kendra) Evans, Jerry (Heather) Evans, Charlie (Shelby) Evans and Emma (Tyler Wolfsberger) Evans; six grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; a brother, Gary (Annie) Evans; two sisters, Patricia (Larry) Kaempfer and Jo Frances Evans; and his beloved dog, Smokey.

In keeping with Mike’s wishes, there will be no visitation or service.

Memorial donations are suggested to Southeast Missouri Pets or the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.
