Funeral service for Michael Estes Sturm, 3206 Kage Road, Southeast Missourian circulation manager, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at First Christian Church. The Revs. Leigh and Mary Earley will officiate. Private inurnment will be in the columbarium at Memorial Park Mausoleum.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel from 4-8 p.m. today.

Sturm, 46, died Sunday, April 17, 1994, at St. Francis Medical Center.

He was born Feb. 1, 1948, in Cape Girardeau, son of Ferd N. and Ruth L. Estes Sturm. He and Patricia Huskey Rugraff were married July 12, 1985, in Cape Girardeau.

Sturm taught physical education and drivers education at Central High School from 1971-78, and was assistant football coach from 1971 to December 1974.

He began working in the circulation department at the Bulletin-Journal Newspaper June 1, 1978, and a few years after purchase of the Southeast Missourian Newspaper he was named circulation manager in April 1989.

He was a member of First Christian Church.

Sturm grew up in Dexter and was a graduate of Dexter High School. He attended the University of Missouri, played football and received a degree in education at North Texas State University in Denton.

Survivors include his wife; a daughter, Jill Sturm of Cape Girardeau; a stepson, Donald Rugraff of St. Louis; a stepdaughter, Carrie DeBrock of St. Louis; his parents of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Marti Sturm of Cape Girardeau, and three stepgrandchildren.
