Michael Owen Caldwell, 75, of Cape Girardeau died Tuesday, Feb. 23, 2016, at his home.
He was born Jan. 6, 1941, in Cape Girardeau to Donald and Deana Thompson Caldwell.
He was a member of Red Star Baptist Church.
He was proud of his service time with the U.S. Army.
He was a member of the Cape Eagles Club and volunteered his time and truck to deliver toy and food baskets collected by the Eagles Club to those in need. Michael was a 40-year member of Teamster Local 574, driving for Schwerman Trucking and Beauford Transportation.
Survivors include a daughter, Rhonda (Todd) Heisserer of Jackson; two brothers, Larry (Linda) Caldwell and Tim (Kristina) Caldwell, both of Cape Girardeau; three sisters, Karen (Bill) Gibbs of Scott City and Janet (Bill) Whitlock and Pam (Tom) Gibbar, both of Cape Girardeau; and three grandchildren, Craig, Clayton and Colton Heisserer.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Donald Caldwell Jr.; and a sister, Mary Lou Reid.
Friends may call from 4 to 7 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.
A memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. David Thompson officiating. Entombment will be at a later date at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery in Bloomfield.
