Michael S. Browne, 70, of Jackson passed away Thursday, Sept. 19, 2019, at his home.
He was born May 31, 1949, in Juneau, Alaska, to Ralph and Beatrice Didericksen Browne. He married Virginia Wilson on June 29, 1991, in Jackson.
Michael was a 32-year "life member" of the Jackson Elks Lodge 2652. He served several years as chairman of the annual Christmas Basket Program, he held many other offices, and was a past Elk of the Year.
Michael worked 30 years as a service technician for Coca-Cola Bottling Co. in Jackson, retiring in 2011. He enjoyed life to its fullest and was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
Loving survivors include his wife of 28 years, Virginia Browne of Jackson; five children, Jeff (Leah) Browne of Jackson, Jason (Amber) Browne of Cape Girardeau, Jeff Kinder of Jackson, Brent (Julia) Kinder and Melissa Childers of Kansas City, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; five siblings, Kimberly Browne and Tyler (Lori) Browne of California, Calvin Browne and Vanessa (Billy) Bales of Minnesota and Roderick (Lynette) Browne of Washington; and a brother-in-law, Larry Wilson of Jackson.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
To celebrate Michael's life, friends are invited to a gathering from 4 to 7 p.m. Oct. 13 in the lower level of the Elks Lodge in Jackson. An Elks service will be held at 5 p.m. Refreshments will be provided.
