MILL CREEK, Ill. -- Merlin Pecord, 84, of Mill Creek, died Sunday, Aug. 6, 1995, at his home.
He was born July 9, 1911, in Willard, son of Jerry H. and Jennie Schlamer Pecord. He and Lena Deckard were married Sept. 30, 1932, in Cairo. She died Sept. 15, 1981.
Pecord was a retired farmer. He was a member of Mill Creek Baptist Church, adult Sunday School teacher, and chairman of the Deacons Board.
Survivors include two sons, Merlin Pecord of Adelanto, Calif., Robert Penrod of Cache; a daughter, Linda Burris of Jonesboro; a brother, Jerry Pecord of Cache; 11 grandchildren,and 11 great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a sister.
Friends may call at Mill Creek Church from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. Bill Joyce officiating. Burial will be in Green Lawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
