MERL HARVEY

BERNIE, Mo. -- Merl McKinley "Slim" Harvey, 80, of Bernie died Friday, March 16, 2001, at the Vintage Village Nursing Center in Dexter.

He was born Aug. 2, 1920, in Hunter, Mo., the son of McKinley and Ethel Murele Hampton Harvey. He and Mary Elizabeth Bennett were married June 9, 1973, at Reed Springs, Mo.

He was a minister and missionary in the Full Gospel Church for many years.

Survivors include his wife; two sons, Murile Leon Harvey of West Memphis, Ark., and William J. Harvey of Grandin, Mo.; two daughters, Vanessa Wells and Samantha McKinley Barbalena, both of Poplar Bluff, Mo.; five brothers, Eli Harvey and Wade Harvey, both of Doniphan, Mo.; Howard Harvey of Ellsinore, Mo. Gaylord Harvey of Fairdealing, Mo., and Gilbert Harvey of Hunter, Mo.; one sisters, Mary Vance of Poplar Bluff; and 10 grandchildren; and several great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, a daughter and four sisters.

Friends may call from 9:30 a.m. Monday until the time of funeral at 11 a.m. at Rainey Funeral Chapel in Bernie. The Rev. Tim Russell will officiate. Burial will be in Bernie Cemetery.
