BENTON -- Meril Camden, 71, of Benton died Thursday, Oct. 30, 1991, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
He was born Feb. 27, 1920, at Bunker, the son of Jay Hue and Minnie Bounds Camden. On Aug. 10, 1971, he married Joy Allen, who survives of Benton.
He moved to the Benton area 11 years ago from St. Louis and was a member for 35 years of Local 42 of the Construction and Laborers Union.
Other survivors include a son, Ray Gene Camden of Benton; two step-sons, Ricky Inboden of Indianapolis, Ind. and Randy Inboden of McLeansboro, Ill.; a step-daughter, Christy Bissel of Carmi, Ill.; two brothers, Jay H. Camden Jr. of Redding, Calif. and Emery Camden of Norfolk, Va.; two sisters, Millie Kight of Advance and Pauline Clubb of Huntsville, Ala.; and five grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by two brothers and a sister.
Friends may call after 3 p.m. today at the Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Saturday. The Rev. Noel Meade will officiate, and burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
