PATTON, Mo. -- Melvin Ford Sitzes, 81, of St. Charles, Missouri, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2018, at Windsor Estates in St. Charles.
He was born Aug. 15, 1936, in Marquand, Missouri, son of Ford and Lillie Sitzes.
Melvin worked for McDonald Douglas where he was a senior product development operations manager, working on planes, building cables for aircraft and helping design the lunar capsule. He graduated from Marquand High School and enjoyed gardening and traveling.
He is survived by a son, Brad Sitzes of St. Charles; a daughter, Carla (Shawn) Wagner of Bonne Terre, Missouri; sisters Minnie Denman of Herculaneum, Missouri, and Oretha (Phillip) Brewster of Marquand; four grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
Preceding him in death were his parents and sister Wanda Brooks.
Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to noon Saturday at Liley Funeral Home in Patton.
Funeral will be at noon Saturday at the Funeral Home, with the Rev. Phillip Brewster officiating.
In lieu of flowers, donations are appreciated to the Marquand First Baptist Church.
