Melody Darlene Dopp Menz, 60, of Belton, Texas, formerly of Scott City, died Friday, April 23, 2004, at her home. She was born Sept. 18, 1943, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Delmar and Francis Reeves Dopp. Menz was the owner and operator of Helping Hands, a residential cleaning service. She also worked at Thorngate. Menz was a 1961 graduate of Illmo Scott City High School and attended Cape Business College and St. Louis University. Melody Darlene Dopp Menz, 60, of Belton, Texas, formerly of Scott City, died Friday, April 23, 2004, at her home.

She was born Sept. 18, 1943, at Cape Girardeau, daughter of Delmar and Francis Reeves Dopp.

Menz was the owner and operator of Helping Hands, a residential cleaning service. She also worked at Thorngate. Menz was a 1961 graduate of Illmo Scott City High School and attended Cape Business College and St. Louis University. She was a member of Keys Valley Baptist Church at Belton.

Survivors include two daughters, Missy Lindsey of Reidland, Ky., Leslie Peterson of Copperas Cove, Texas; a brother, D.G. "Buck" Dopp of South Padre Island, Texas; two sisters, Shirley Bain of Temple, Texas, Mary Eberhardt of Belton, Texas; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a sister.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with Mark Fisher officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.
