Melba D. Philipps, 82, of Jackson passed away Tuesday, Sept. 18, 2018, at Life Care Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 6, 1936, in Jackson, daughter of Allois G. and Lulah M. Petzoldt Philipps.
Melba was baptized and confirmed at St. Paul Lutheran Church in Jackson. She graduated from Jackson High School in 1954. Melba's work history was in food and housekeeping services.
Loving survivors include two brothers, Julius (Janet) Philipps of Jackson and her twin Melbert Philipps of Sikeston, Missouri; a sister, Ell O'Dean Knight of Scott City; three nieces, Valeria (Dan) Klaproth, Sandra (Mark) Barr and Carolyn Wood of Jackson; and one nephew, Steven Philipps of Jackson.
She was preceded in death by her loving parents; a brother-in-law, Robert Knight; and a nephew, John Keith Wood.
Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.
Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Eric Longman officiating. Interment will follow in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
