THEBES, Ill. -- Melba L. Jackson, 71, of Thebes died Sunday, May 2, 2004, at her home.
She was born April 11, 1933, at Scopus, Mo., daughter of Greeley J. "Bob" and Mary E. Kirkpatrick Hanners. She and Hubert F. Jackson were married July 12, 1958. He died Nov. 29, 1993.
Mrs. Jackson was formerly of Cape Girardeau. She retired from Blair Industries and Eli Walker Co. in Scott City. She was a member of Alexander Freewill Baptist Church.
Survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Judy and Jerry Robinson of Jackson, Debra and William Wehmeyer of Thebes; four grandchildren, Steven Robinson, Stacy Goza, William Darren Wehmeyer Jr., Brock Jackson Wehmeyer; and a great-grandson, Kyle Robinson.
She was preceded in death by a brother, George Hanners, and a sister, Florene Crites.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill, Mo.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Ernest Brown officiating. Burial will be in Pulliam Cemetery near Scopus.
