Melanie Sue Stickel Cook, 23, of Scott City passed away Friday, Feb. 8, 2013. at Southeast Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born June 19, 1989, in Cape Girardeau, the daughter of Dale Edward and Heidi Lee Sturm Stickel. She married Christopher Cook on July 7, 2012, at Scott City, and he survives.
Cook attended Broadway United Methodist Church in Scott City.
Other survivors include two sons, Dylan Cook and Ryan Penley of the home; her parents, Dale and Denise Stickel of Cape Girardeau and Justin and Heidi Riegert of Scott City; two brothers, Christopher Stickel of Scott City and Jesse Riegert of Chaffee, Mo.; a sister, Amy Talley of Scott City; paternal grandparents, Dean and Betty Stickel of Cape Girardeau; maternal grandfather, Pete Sturm of Scott City; and her special grandmother, Shirley Cook of Scott City.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.
Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the chapel, with the Rev. Jack Owens officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery in Scott City.
