Mayme J. Schweain, 85, of 611 S. West End Blvd. died Sunday, March 13, 1994, at her home.

She was born Oct. 3, 1908 in Campbell, the daughter of William and Malinda Bridgeman Wallace.

She married John Riley Schweain on Feb. 16, 1923 in Advance. He died on Oct. 15, 1970.

She was of the Baptist denomination.

Surviving are three sons, Clarence R. Schweain, Jerry R. Schweain and Charles "Tom" Schweain, all of Jackson; four daughters, Betty Rohman of Scranton, Pa., Candy Gottfried of St. Louis, and Mary Tilley and Hazel Burris of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Henry Wallace of Poplar Bluff; one sister, Myrtle McCormick of Kennett; 17 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband, one son, one brother, one sister and two great-grandchildren preceded her in death.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Chapel.

Funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Bill Ellis, assistant pastor of the First Baptist Church of Jackson, officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
