MORLEY, Mo. -- Norma Maxine Trost, 86, of Springfield, Mo., passed away Tuesday, May 5, 2009, after a brief illness.
She was born April 14, 1923, at Morley, the second of eight children to John and Ruth Moore Pippin. She and Julius Trost were married in 1941. They celebrated 66 years of marriage before his death in July 2008.
Maxine graduated from high school in Oran, Mo. She worked at a shoe factory in Chaffee, Mo., before moving to Springfield in 1967. She was a member of Macedonia Baptist Church 42 years, where she was active in the Gleaners Sunday School Class. She was an excellent seamstress, a wonderful cook (especially the pies!) and a loving mother and grandmother.
Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law, Shirley and Tom Shoemaker of Perkins, Mo., Carolyn and Bill Phillips of Fort Worth, Texas, Betty and Walter Finney of Seymour, Mo.; six grandchildren; 10 great-grandchildren; two brothers; two sisters; many nieces, nephews and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, a sister and two brothers.
Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. today at Greenlawn South Funeral Home in Springfield.
The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be in White Chapel Memorial Gardens.
