Maxine Ogborn, 88, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Olive Branch, Ill., died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at the home of her grandson, Derek Ogborn. She was born March 20, 1919, in Cairo, Ill., to Sam and Mary Childers Levil. She married Arnold L. Ogborn Aug. 31, 1940. He preceded her in death March 22, 1998...

Maxine Ogborn, 88, of Cape Girardeau, formerly of Olive Branch, Ill., died Friday, Feb. 8, 2008, at the home of her grandson, Derek Ogborn.

She was born March 20, 1919, in Cairo, Ill., to Sam and Mary Childers Levil. She married Arnold L. Ogborn Aug. 31, 1940. He preceded her in death March 22, 1998.

She was a member of the United Methodist Church in Olive Branch. She worked with her husband many years in their grocery business. She was a member of Olive Branch Cemetery Association and Olive Branch Chamber of Commerce.

She is survived by a son, Gary Ogborn of Cape Girardeau; two grandsons, Derek (Robin) Ogborn of Cape Girardeau, Cary (Holly) Ogborn of Houston; a stepgrandson, Scott (Jodi) Treece of Wolf Lake, Ill.; six great-grandchildren, Kasey Ogborn, Scott Edmonds, Amber Windisch and Josh Bowers, all of Cape Girardeau, Gage and Chase Ogborn of Houston; three great-stepgrandchildren, Austin, Kayla and Braeden Treece; three great-great-grandchildren; nieces; nephews; other relatives; and friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband; parents; a brother, Alfred Levil; a sister, Lucy Matthews; and a sister-in-law, Lucille Ogborn.

The funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Crain Funeral Home in Tamms, Ill., with the Rev. Verlee Eaker officiating. Interment will be in Olive Branch Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
