DUDLEY -- Maxine McGowen, 65, of Dudley died Friday, Jan. 29, 1999, at St. Francis Medical Center.
She was born July 13, 1933, daughter of Lester F. and Gertie Allen Clark. She married Cecil "Jake" McGowen in Clay County, Ark., on Feb. 24, 1951. He survives.
She was a homemaker and resident of the Dudley area all her life. She was a member of the Hobbs Chapel Church near Dudley.
Also surviving are a son, Bobby McGowen of Dexter; three brothers, Denzil Clark of Clermont, Fla., Rudolph Clark of Wappapello and Jimmy Clark of Puxico; two sisters, Carolyn Conway of Barnhart and Judy Harty of Wappapelo; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Visitation will be after 6 p.m. today at Watkins & Sons Funeral Home in Puxico.
Funeral will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at the Watkins & Sons Chapel, with the Rev. Amos Dees of Puxico officiating.
Burial will be at Hobbs Chapel Cemetery near Dudley.
