JACKSON -- Maxine M. Godwin, 82, of Jackson died at her home Friday, June 14, 1996.
She was born April 20, 1914, daughter of John B. and Nora A. Cooksey Mackey.
She was a member of First Baptist Church in Jackson. She was a schoolteacher and telephone operator in the Salem area. She worked at International Shoe Co. in Jackson and Florsheim Shoe Co. in Cape Girardeau.
She married James Morrell Godwin of Jackson on July 1, 1950. He survives.
Other survivors include two daughters, Linda Godwin Nagel of Houston, and Judy Green of Bartlesville, Okla.; a brother, Roger Mackey of Jackson; and four grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.
Service will be held at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home Monday at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Bill Ellis officiating. Burial will be in Russell Height Cemetery at Jackson.
Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
