Maxine Emoline Hitt, 88, of Oak Ridge died Sunday, Sept. 26, 2010, at Jackson Manor in Jackson.
She was born May 10, 1922, in Blodgett, Mo., to Roy and Pearl Lulu Simonds Nicholson. Maxine and Paul Franklin Hitt were married Sept. 6, 1942. He died Dec. 19, 1966.
Maxine graduated from Fort Hamilton High School in New York. She worked at Regal Cleaners in St. Louis more than 30 years, retiring in 2003.
Survivors include a son, Paul Franklin Hitt Jr.; a grandson Paul Franklin Hitt III; a sister, Drusilla Bible of Lakeland, Fla.; a sister-in-law, Ruby Hitt of Oak Ridge; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, four brothers and two sisters.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at Oak Hill Cemetery Chapel in Kirkwood, Mo. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
Cracraft-Miller Funeral home in Jackson is in charge of arrangements.
