JACKSON, Mo. -- Maud May Gohn, age 98, passed away Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, at the Heartland Care and Rehab Center in Cape Girardeau. Friends may call today, Aug. 20, between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson. Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at the New Bethel Baptist Church in Pocahontas, followed by interment in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. The Rev. JACKSON, Mo. -- Maud May Gohn, age 98, passed away Saturday, Aug. 19, 2000, at the Heartland Care and Rehab Center in Cape Girardeau.

Friends may call today, Aug. 20, between 4 p.m. and 8 p.m. at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson.

Funeral services will be Monday, Aug. 21, at 2:30 p.m. at the New Bethel Baptist Church in Pocahontas, followed by interment in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson. The Rev. Don Slatton will officiate. Friends may call at the church on Monday after 1:30 p.m.

Mrs. Gohn was born Dec. 11, 1901, in Neelys Landing, the daughter of the late Millard and Minerva Walker Medlock. She and Dale Gohn were married May 17, 1924. He preceded her in death on March 21, 1981.

Loving survivors include two daughters and sons-in-law, Virginia and Leonard Tripp of Jackson and Ruby and Lindell Cook of Fruitland; two grandsons, Frank Tripp and Louis Tripp, both of Jackson; four granddaughters, Linda Mouser of Jackson, Pauline Skelly and Carol Kon, both of Maplewood, and Margaret Briscoe of Arnold; 13 great-grandchildren; and 19 great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded by two brothers, Ben and Fred Medlock; two sisters, Laura Trickey and Hester Morton; and a great-granddaughter, Tammy Hoffman.

Mrs. Gohn had been a devoted member of New Bethel Baptist Church since her baptism at the age of 19. She is well remembered for her faithfulness to the Lord and the church by serving as a nursery worker for many years.

Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to New Bethel Baptist Church.
