JACKSON -- Mattie Stovall, 95, of Jackson, died Thursday, Feb. 2, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Jan. 12, 1900, near Fruitland, daughter of George Pink and Ollie Corrine McNeely Morton. She and Earl W. Stovall were married May 27, 1922, at Fruitland. He died Jan. 6, 1980.
Stovall attended the former Dogwood School north of Jackson and Southeast Missouri State University. Prior to her marriage she taught elementary grades at the former Sawyer School in Fruitland.
She was a member of First Presbyterian Church and its Presbyterian Women.
Survivors include a daughter, Martha Bender of Cape Girardeau; a son, Earl Stovall Jr. of Jackson; four grandchildren, and seven great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by an infant daughter, two brothers and four sisters.
Friends may call at Cracraft-Miller Funeral Home from 5-8 p.m. today.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at First Presbyterian Church in Jackson, with the Rev. Grant Gillard officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park at Cape Girardeau.
