BERNIE -- Mattie Sandusky, 86, of Bernie died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at her home. She was born Sept. 25, 1911, at Bernie, daughter of Frank and Grace Crump Crain. She and Jack Sandusky were married Dec. 10, 1929, in Manila, Ark. He died April 30, 1977...

BERNIE -- Mattie Sandusky, 86, of Bernie died Tuesday, July 28, 1998, at her home.

She was born Sept. 25, 1911, at Bernie, daughter of Frank and Grace Crump Crain. She and Jack Sandusky were married Dec. 10, 1929, in Manila, Ark. He died April 30, 1977.

Survivors include two sons, Billy and Jerry Sandusky of Dexter; three daughters, Jewell Tryon of San Manuel, Ariz., Wanda Driver of Dexter, and Donna Barker of Parma.

Also surviving are five sisters, Myrtle Anthony and Virginia Wilhite of Dexter, Evelyn Alberson of Greenville, Pernie Ogelvie of Bernie, Mary Barks of Silva; 13 grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter and a brother.

Friends may call at Rainey Funeral Home in Bernie from 5-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday at the funeral home, with Pastor Dale Hartle officiating. Burial will be in Bernie Cemetery.
