SIKESTON - Mattie M. Resenbeck, 86, of Sikeston, died Saturday, May 21, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born March 11, 1908, in Clarksville, Tenn., to Matthew A. and Arty Welker St. John.
On Oct. 26, 1956, she married Earl E. Resenbeck, in Evansville, Ind. He preceded her in death on May 20, 1989.
She is survived by one sister, Ollie Bryant of Morehouse; one nephew, Bill Bryant of Morehouse; and one niece, Jane Hicks of Sikeston. Also surviving are three grand nephews, three great grandnephews, and three great-grandnephews.
She was preceded in death by one brother and four sisters.
She was a housewife and homemaker, and worked as a nurses aid.
She was a member of the Third Street Baptist Mission Church in Evansville. She moved from Evansville to Sikeston in June 1989.
Friends may call from 6-8 p.m., Monday, at the Nunnelee Funeral Home in Sikeston.
The body will be taken to the Alexander Funeral Home in Evansville, where funeral services will be held at 1 p.m., Tuesday, at the funeral home. Rev. Kendal Hicks of Cape Girardeau will officiate, assisted by the Rev. Curtis Rowe of Evansville. Burial will be in the Sunset Memorial Cemetery in Evansville.
