MATTIE HOLLAND

CAIRO, Ill. -- Mattie Holland, 89, of Cairo died Friday, Sept. 22, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.

She was born June 1, 1906, in Tallulah, La., the daughter of Grant and Ollie Allen Saxton. She was married to Willie Holland who preceded her in death May 14, 1982.

She lived in Illinois for more than 50 years and was a member of First Central Baptist Church in Cairo.

Survivors include a daughter, Willella Flowers of Cairo, six grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call from 10-11 a.m. Thursday at First Central Missionary Baptist Church in Cairo, where funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. The Rev. J.L. Posey will officiate, and burial will be in National Cemetery at Mound City, Ill.
