CHARLESTON -- Mattie E. Baker, 85, of Charleston, died Monday, June 3, 1991, at Missouri Delta Medical Center.
She was born June 23, 1905, at Neelyville, daughter of Clarence and Nancy Jane Hunt Loflin. She married Johnnie J. Baker Dec. 4, 1924. He died Oct. 4, 1987. She attended First General Baptist Church here.
Survivors include seven sons, James Baker of Prospect, Va., Cecil Baker of Ferndale, Mich., Herbert and Billy Baker of Florissant, John Baker of Farmerville, Va., Homer Baker of Charleston, Delmer Baker of Chicago; a daughter, Martha Jackson of LaMarque, Texas; two brothers, Charles Loflin of Bertrand, Lindell Hunt of Sikeston; a sister, Ola Miller of Bertrand; 29 grandchildren, and many great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a grandson, great-granddaughter, two brothers and a sister.
Funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Wednesday at McMikle Funeral Chapel here. The Rev. Billy Meeks will officiate, with burial in Oak Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call at the funeral home after 4:30 p.m. today.
