CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Mattie Austin, 70, of Charleston died Thursday, July 13, 2000, at the Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born on Sept. 7, 1929, at Charleston, daughter of Allen and Maggie Humphrey Williams.
A lifelong resident of Missouri, she was a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.
She was married to Napolean Austin, who preceded her in death.
Survivors include three sons, Junior Lee Austin and Napaleon Austin of Chicago, Ill., and Sammie Lee Austin of Cairo, Ill.; seven daughters, Evelean Moore of Springfield, Mo., Barbara Jean Rodgers of Chicago, Maggie Lee Hyde of East St. Louis, Ill., Regina Winders of Sikeston, Mo., Lisa Pirtle and Flossie McDaniel of Cairo, Ill. and Peggie Henderson of Charleston; a brother, Thomas Williams of Wyatt, Mo.; two sisters, Alener Stovall of Charleston and Irene Reed of St. Louis; 26 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Friends may call Monday from 11 a.m. until the time of the funeral at Sparks Funeral Home in Charleston.
Funeral service is scheduled for 1 p.m. at the funeral home.
The Rev. Lavern Frazier will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Grove Cemetery.
