Matthew R. "Matt" Holshouser, 35, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Dec. 24, 2020, at his home.
He was born April 18, 1985, in Cape Girardeau to Jackie Ray and Rhonda Todd Holshouser.
Matt was a graduate of Cape Girardeau Central High School and attended Moberly College in Moberly, Missouri.
He was passionate about nature and music, and also tearing things up and putting them back together. He was very passionate about his family.
Matt was a cook and baker for Flat Branch Pub & Brewing in Columbia, Missouri, and previously worked for BG's in Cape Girardeau.
Survivors include his mother, Rhonda Holshouser of Cape Girardeau; sister, Sarah Holshouser of Cape Girardeau; brother Tony (Arikka Proffer) Walden Jr. of Cape Girardeau; grandparents, Billy and Geraldine Todd of Cape Girardeau; aunt, Rita Todd of Cape Girardeau; two nieces, Lillian and Aria; nephew, Colby; one uncle, David Holshouser; his dog, Maverick; and several other aunts, uncles and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jackie Ray Holshouser; grandparents, Ruby and Ed Hargrove and Pop Holshouser; and two uncles, Billy and Randy Todd.
The family will have a private memorial service at a later date.
Memorial contributions may be given to the family for funeral expenses.
