Mary Victoria "Tori" Landgraf of Cape Girardeau passed away on Thursday, September 16, 1999, at her home. She was born on October 29, 1929 in Cape Girardeau, daughter of Dr. Paul Williams and Gladys Roberts Williams and step-daughter of Lindsay Simmons. She married Vernon H. Landgraf on July 3, 1952 in Cape Girardeau. He preceded her in death on June 12, 1997. Mrs. Landgraf graduated from Central High School and later graduated from Penn State University with a degree in Education. She became a schoolteacher in Highland, Ill. until she married. She was an active member and past president of PEO, a member of the board of directors of the River Heritage Museum and the Glenn House, a member of Lynwood Baptist Church and a former Sunday school teacher. She was active in the PTA, served as a scout leader and was a volunteer of the Ladies Auxiliary at Southeast Missouri Hospital.
She is survived by four sons, Mark Landgraf and Luke Landgraf both of Cape Girardeau, Jeff Landgraf of Decatur, Ill., and John Landgraf of Bloomington, Ind.; one brother, Roberts Williams of Cape; and three grandchildren, Lindsay Landgraf, Lacey Landgraf and Jack Landgraf all of Cape. She is preceded in death by one brother, Paul Williams of Cape, and her parents. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at Ford & Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, Sept. 19, 1999 at Lynnwood Baptist Church. Rev. Mark Anderson will officiate. Burial will follow at Memorial Park Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Robert Hemperly, Jason McKee, David Crowe, Pat Bucek, Mike Wilkening, and David Bertrand. The family requests memorials be given to Southeast Hospice.
