MARBLE HILL, Mo. -- Mary Modean Thomas, 85, of Marble Hill died Monday, May 22, 2006, at Southeast Missouri Hospital in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Aug. 22, 1920, in Olathe, Colo., daughter of Harry R. and Ora Dell Matthews Shetley. She and Warren J. Thomas were married Sept. 23, 1939. He died May 28, 2001.
Thomas had been a salesclerk at Caldwell Dry Goods and Hawkins Dry Goods in Marble Hill. She was a member of Marble Hill United Methodist Church. She had lived in Marble Hill since 1946.
Survivors include a daughter, Janet Myers of Marble Hill; a sister, Louise Nanna of St. Louis; two grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Friends may call at Hutchings Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 p.m. today.
The funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday at the chapel, with the Rev. Michael Kelpe officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery.
