BENTON, Mo. -- Mary F. Stewart, 90, of Benton died Thursday, Nov. 17, 2016, at Saint Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau.
She was born Oct. 1, 1926, in Fornfelt to John Barney and Leona Pauline Wahl Wilhelm. She married Jackson Berry Stewart on April 10, 1948, in Fornfelt. He preceded her in death Sept. 16, 1998.
Mary was the secretary for Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel for over 50 years. She was a member of St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton and Ladies Auxiliary American Legion Post 369 in Benton.
She is survived by a son, Rusty (Judy) Stewart of Benton; two daughters, Brenda Hudson of Southaven, Mississippi, and Jane Stewart of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Peggy Butler of Fort Collins, Colorado; three grandchildren, Stacy (Jason) Ourth, Greg (Deana) Cathey and Derek (Penelope) Hudson; and seven great-grandchildren.
She also was preceded in death by her parents, three brothers and four sisters.
Visitation will be from 5 to 8 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Chapel in Benton. Parish prayers will be at 7 p.m.
The funeral service will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at St. Denis Catholic Church in Benton, with the Rev. Michael Casteel as celebrant. Burial will be in St. Denis Catholic Cemetery.
