Mary Amelia Farrar Souers, 93, of Cape Girardeau, died Sunday, March 12, 1995, at the Chateau Girardeau Health Center.

She was born March 21, 1901, in Advance, the daughter of Dr. J.C. and Emma Kappler Farrar. She married Ethan E. Souers on July 22, 1932. He preceded her in death in 1963.

Farrar and her husband were livestock dealers. She was a charter member of the Greater Cape Girardeau Historical Society and Chapter B.I. of P.E.O. She moved to Cape Girardeau from Columbia City, Ind., in 1965.

Survivors include six nieces, Alice Ketcher of California, Mo., Juanita Farrar of Tulsa, Okla., Mary Francis Evans and Dorothy Bowers of Cape Girardeau, Emma Jane Henrichsen of Port Hueneme, Calif., and Verda Minton of Vichy; and two nephews, Carl Farrar of Cape Girardeau and Bill Farrar Sr. of Rolla.

She was preceded in death by two brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel in Cape Girardeau, where funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday. The Rev. Jimmie Dace and the Rev. Jack Ketcher will officiate, and burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
