SCOTT CITY -- Mary Elizabeth Rowland, 88, died Sunday, May 7, 2000, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.
She was born April 26, 1912, at Paragould, Ark., daughter of James Henry and Kathryn Elizabeth Harre Wilson. She and Clyde Rowland Sr. were married Nov. 9, 1929, at Paragould. He died Sept. 12, 1968.
Rowland had worked as a seamstress for Ely Walker factory in Scott City. She attended First Baptist Church.
Survivors include two sons, Clyde Rowland Jr. of Milan, Ill., and James Rowland of Cape Girardeau; two daughters, Melvia Rowland of Petaluma, Calif., and Roberta Wheeler of Scott City; 12 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three sisters.
Friends may call after 5 p.m. Monday at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel.
Funeral will be at 2 p.m. at the chapel, with the Rev. Terry Eades officiating. Burial will be in Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
