JACKSON, Mo. -- Mary Ellen Proffer, 87, of Jackson died Tuesday, Oct. 23, 2001, at Monticello House.
She was born Sept. 23, 1914, at Crump, Mo., daughter of Hezekiah and Lydia Ulrich Ervin. She and Otis Marion Proffer were married Feb. 6, 1936. He died June 2, 1975.
Proffer moved to Jackson in 1960 from Crump. She was a member of First General Baptist Church in Jackson.
Survivors include six sons, Billy, Bob, Ben, Bernard and Brian Proffer, all of Jackson, Bradley Proffer of Hamilton, Mo.; four daughters, Betty, Barbara and Brenda Proffer, all of Jackson, Diane Erickson of Spanish Fork, Utah; 14 grandchildren; and nine great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by three brothers and three sisters.
Friends may call at McCombs Funeral Home in Jackson from 4-8 p.m. today.
Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mark and Kim Proffer will officiate. Burial will be in Proffer Cemetery at Crump.
