ANNA, Ill. -- Mary A. Nelson, 77, of Anna died Monday, July 17, 2000, at Jonesboro Healthcare Center in Jonesboro, Ill. She was born Nov. 23, 1922, in Savanna, Ill., daughter of Oscar L. and Mary M. Fountain Anderson. She and James Nelson were married in 1945 in Union County...

ANNA, Ill. -- Mary A. Nelson, 77, of Anna died Monday, July 17, 2000, at Jonesboro Healthcare Center in Jonesboro, Ill.

She was born Nov. 23, 1922, in Savanna, Ill., daughter of Oscar L. and Mary M. Fountain Anderson. She and James Nelson were married in 1945 in Union County.

Nelson was a member of Big Creek Baptist Church.

Survivors include her husband; two daughters, Rita Hindman of Marion, Ill., Linda Lindsay of Benton, Ill.; a brother, Walt Anderson of Atlanta, Ga.; eight grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Friends may call at Hileman and Parr Funeral Home in Jonesboro from 6-8 p.m. today.

Funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Clifton Lingle officiating. Burial will be in Big Creek Cemetery.
