CHARLESTON, Mo. -- Mary Alice McCann, 97, of O'Fallon, Mo., and formerly of Mississippi County, died Tuesday, Jan. 22, 2001, at Garden View Care Center in O'Fallon.

She was born Oct. 20, 1903, at Clifton, Tenn., daughter of David Daniel and Amanda A. Turnbow McCann.

She served as postmistress for the town of Anniston, Mo., and later moved to St. Louis. McCann continued to work in the civil Service Administration at offices in St. Louis, Denver and Philadelphia until her retirement in 1962.

She is survived by a sister, Nora Price of Bonne Terre, Mo.

She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters.

Friends may call at McMikle Funeral Home in Charleston from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Friday.

Funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Rev. Michael Ryan will officiate, with burial in the I.O.O.F. Cemetery near Charleston.
