Mary Lou Gillum, 40, of rural Sikeston, died Saturday, Oct. 25, 1997, in a vehicle accident near Puxico.

She was born July 15, 1957, in Sikeston, daughter of J.B. and Helen Louise Lumbert Lomax. She was married to Elvin W. Gillum on Aug. 3, 1991 in Avert.

Gillum attended Matthews High School in Matthews and in 1983 she graduated from the licensed practical nurse program at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.

She was employed at the Pediatric Clinic through Dexter Memorial Hospital, in Dexter.

She attended the Fellowship Baptist Church in Sikeston.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Justin Brock Kidd of Sikeston; a daughter, Danika Kidd of Sikeston; a stepdaughter, Jessica Gillum of Georgia; two brothers, Richard Lomax of New Madrid and Paul Lomax of East Prairie; and a sister, Glenda Lomax of Sikeston.

She was preceded in death by her parents and a son.

Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today, at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral chapel, with the Rev. Ted Wimberley officiating.

Her body will be cremated following services.
