DES PERES, Mo. -- Mary Lucille Lair passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at the age of 90 years. She is remembered with love by her five children: Jane Starkey Warneke and her husband, Duane, of Washington, Missouri; Kay Bova of Chesterfield, Missouri; Wiliferd Lair Jr. and his wife, Charlotte, of Springfield, Missouri; Steve Lair and his wife, Brenda, of Corinth, Mississippi; and Wayne Lair and his wife, Brenda, of Stilwell, Kansas...

DES PERES, Mo. -- Mary Lucille Lair passed away peacefully Friday, Oct. 7, 2016, at the age of 90 years.

She is remembered with love by her five children: Jane Starkey Warneke and her husband, Duane, of Washington, Missouri; Kay Bova of Chesterfield, Missouri; Wiliferd Lair Jr. and his wife, Charlotte, of Springfield, Missouri; Steve Lair and his wife, Brenda, of Corinth, Mississippi; and Wayne Lair and his wife, Brenda, of Stilwell, Kansas.

Mary Lucille was preceded in death by her loving husband of 51 years, Wiliferd Lair Sr.

She was surrounded with love by her 14 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren.

Prior to moving from Kennett, Missouri, she spent many of her years attending the Church of Christ in Bakersville, Missouri; Fruitland; and Perryville, Missouri.

Mary Lucille loved gardening, sewing, knitting, Sunday fried-chicken dinners and her many church friends.

At the time of her death, she was living in a memory-care home, The Quarters of Des Peres in Des Peres. She will be missed by her many caretakers, whom she cherished as her friends as well.

Mary Lucille always had a sense of humor and could put a smile on the face of all those around her.

Throughout her life, Mary Lucille exhibited compassion, perseverance, commitment and a positive attitude toward all her endeavors.

She is an inspiration to her children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and all those who knew her.

Visitation will begin at noon Friday at McDaniel Funeral Home, 115 Highway 412 in Kennett.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.

Flowers will be accepted at McDaniel Funeral Home in Kennett, and/or donations to the Alzheimer's Association are appreciated.
