Mary Berneda LaFentres, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital. She was born July 18, 1920, in Sikeston, Mo., daughter of Roy and Mary R. Zoph Chaney. She and Jess LaFentres were married Aug. 6, 1938, in Sikeston, Mo. He died Dec. 11, 1981...

Mary Berneda LaFentres, 84, of Cape Girardeau died Monday, Jan. 24, 2005, at Southeast Missouri Hospital.

She was born July 18, 1920, in Sikeston, Mo., daughter of Roy and Mary R. Zoph Chaney. She and Jess LaFentres were married Aug. 6, 1938, in Sikeston, Mo. He died Dec. 11, 1981.

Survivors include two sons, Frank LaFentres of Cape Girardeau, Clifton LaFentres of Perryville, Mo.; a daughter, Sandra Huey of Scott City; a sister, Bernice Schuenberg of Gray Ridge, Mo.; seven grandchildren; and 13 great-grandchildren.

There is no visitation.

Private burial will be at a later date in Garden of Memories at Sikeston.

Ford and Sons Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements.
