BERTRAND -- Funeral service for Mary Lee Cooper of Bertrand will be held at 2 p.m. today at Ponder Funeral Chapel in Sikeston. The Rev. Gerald Penn will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park Cemetery at Sikeston.
Cooper, 64, died Sunday, May 15, 1994, at Missouri Delta Medical Center in Sikeston.
She was born Aug. 25, 1929, in New Madrid County, daughter of Clemet E. and Velma McCain Summerlott. She and Robert Cooper were married Dec. 20, 1952.
Cooper had worked the past 15 years at Wal-Mart, and had also worked at Anchor Toy and International Shoe Co. She was a member of the General Baptist Church in Murray, Ky.
Survivors include her husband; two sons, Staff Sgt. Robert Cooper Jr. with the U.S. Army in Mianz, Germany, Charles Cooper of Murray; a daughter, Marilyn Grogan of Charleston; a stepson, Robert Cooper of Miami, Fla.; four brothers, A.F. Summerlott of East Prairie, William Summerlott of Monroe, Wis., Jackie Summerlott of Sikeston, Gary White of Chicago, Ill.; four sisters, Louise White of Sikeston, Virginia Newman of St. Louis, Elsie Walters of Portageville, Norma Cleaver of Fairfield, Calif., and seven grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by a brother and sister.
