Mary Louise Kasten, 76, of Tilsit passed away Sunday, May 23, 2010, at the Lutheran Home in Cape Girardeau.

She was born Oct. 19, 1933, in Inglewood, Calif., daughter of Vernon and Erma Sander Oberndorfer. She and Harold Lee Kasten were married June 2, 1957, at Zion United Methodist Church in Gordonville.

Mary graduated from Jackson High School in 1952. She worked at the former Davis Electric Co. in Cape Girardeau several years. She was a former member of Zion United Methodist Church, where she belonged to the MYF and the former WSCS. She also taught youth Sunday school. She was currently a member of New McKendree United Methodist Church in Jackson.

Loving survivors include her husband of 52 years; a son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Donna Kasten of Jackson; a daughter and son-in-law, Susan and Mark Rundel of Crane, Mo.; two granddaughters, Ashley and Kaitlin Rundel of Crane; a brother, Gary E. Moore of Cape Girardeau; a sister; Judy Riehn of Gordonville; stepmother, Evelyn Moore of Gordonville; a sister-in-law, Dixie Moore of Jackson; and many nieces, nephews and extended family.

She was preceded in death by her parents; stepfather, Eugene P. Moore; a daughter, Cheryl Ann Kasten in 1962; and a brother, Jim Moore in 1991.

Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson, and from 9 a.m. until service time Wednesday at New McKendree Church.

The funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday at the church, with the Rev. John Rice officiating. Interment will be in Zion Methodist Cemetery at Gordonville.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or to Zion Methodist Cemetery Fund in Gordonville.
