MARY J. FRANS

MOUNDS, Ill. -- Funeral service for Mary J. Frans of Mounds will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Crain Funeral Home in Ullin. The Rev. Herman Painter will officiate, with burial in Beechwood Cemetery.

Frans, 79, died Sunday, July 2, 1995, at St. Francis Medical Center in Cape Girardeau, Mo.

She was born Aug. 7, 1915, in Pocahontas, Ark., daughter of James Emmett and Bettie Level Crown. She married Sam Frans.

Frans retired as a clerk at Connell Store in Mounds. She also had worked at Burkart in Cairo.

Survivors include her husband; a son, Paul Lewis of Rockford; two brothers, Dave Crown of Pulaski, Arbey Crown of Thebes; four grandchildren, and four great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a daughter, son, brother and two grandsons.
