SIKESTON -- Mary Hopper, 82, of Sikeston died Saturday, Oct. 28, 1995, at her home.
She was born Sept. 25, 1913, to William and Maudie Beck Hastings in the Big Opening community near Matthews. On Feb. 8, 1935, she married Tennie Hopper, who died Oct. 10, 1984.
She was a housewife and a General Baptist.
Survivors are two sons, Sam Hopper of Burke, Va., and Michael Hopper of Sikeston; two daughters, Maudie Streetman of Manchester and Sue Carpenter of Cape Girardeau; one brother, Donald Hastings of Sikeston; six sisters, Dorothy Alley, Lizzie Campbell, Lucille Pruitt and Modena Hastings, all of Sikeston, Leta Settles of Matthews and Ozeal Jones of Anderson, Ind.; seven grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one sister.
Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. today at Nunnelee Funeral Chapel in Sikeston.
Service will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Carl Addison of the Tanner Street Church of God in Sikeston officiating. Burial will be in Garden of Memories Cemetery in Sikeston.
