Mary Jane "MJ" Holman, 62, of Jackson died Thursday, March 22, 2018, at her home.

She was born Nov. 29, 1955, in Washington, D.C., to Gary and Mary Ann Travers Squires.

She graduated from Barnes-Jewish Hospital School of Nursing in St. Louis.

She worked as a registered nurse at Southeast Hospital Emergency Room the last 14 years of her career.

She enjoyed fishing and spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.

Survivors include her father, Gary Squires of Cape Girardeau; significant other, Rick Hood of Jackson; a son, Charlie (Cassidy) Holman of Jackson; three daughters, Sara (Dustin) Simmons of Jackson, Samantha (Edward) Sharp of Paducah, Kentucky, and Sabrina (Chad) Wasuleski of Dongola, Illinois; three sisters, Julie Klein of Vienna, Illinois, Karen (Gary) Goins of Pulaski, Illinois, and Amy Keistler of Villa Ridge, Illinois; and five grandchildren, Abigail Holman, Elliot Simmons, McKenna Wasuleski, Alyssa Sharp and Sierra Sharp.

She was preceded in death by her mother.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Monday at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home in Cape Girardeau.

Funeral Mass will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at St. Mary's Cathedral in Cape Girardeau, with the Rev. Rayappa Chinnabathini officiating. Burial will be at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Mounds, Illinois.

Memorial contributions may be given to Southeast Hospice.
