Mary JoAnn Godwin, 87, of Cape Girardeau passed away Thursday, Nov. 7, 2019, at Southeast Hospital.
She was born April 2, 1932, in Cape Girardeau to Anton and Olevia Hoffer Spinner. She was married to Clarence Ervin until his death. She married Bill Godwin on Sept. 30, 2004, and he survives.
Mary was a member of Emerald Street Church of God and River City Workers of the Blind.
She is survived by her husband, Bill Godwin of Cape Girardeau; stepdaughter, Vicki (Jeff) Lohrstorfer of Cape Girardeau; two brothers, George (Carolyn) Spinner and Louis Spinner, both of Cape Girardeau; three stepgrandchildren; 12 great-stepgrandchildren; nine great-great-stepgrandchildren; six nieces and nephews; and 15 great-nieces and -nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, Clarence Ervin; and sister-in-law, Irene Spinner.
Visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of service Tuesday at Crain Funeral Home and Cremation Service in Cape Girardeau.
Funeral services for Mary JoAnn Godwin will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home, with the Revs. Jeff Lohrstorfer and Roger Christiansen officiating. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Cape Girardeau.
Memorial contributions may be made to Emerald Street Church of God and will be accepted at the funeral home.
