MARBLE HILL, Mo. — Mary Gertrude Fox was born Sept. 11, 1942, and left this world to be with her Lord on Sunday, Sept. 4, 2016.

Mary was a lifelong Christian and enjoyed doing the Lord’s work.

She worked for 24 years at the Brown Shoe Factory from which she retired in 2007. After retirement, Mary enjoyed spending even more time with her husband, Alvin; granddaughter, Tina; and great-granddaughter, Sydney.

Mary is survived by her husband of 33 years, Alvin Fox of the home; son James Borders of Bonne Terre, Missouri; a stepdaughter, Sandy (Dennis) Keeling of Poplar Bluff, Missouri; and a stepson, Shawn (Holly) Fox of Chaffee, Missouri. Mary also is survived by her grandchildren, Tina (Bob) Cobb of Scott City, Cody (Brandy) Fox of Dexter, Missouri, Rachel Keeling (Brian) Kline of Rockville, Maryland, Mary Keeling (fiancé Keith Bishop) of Los Angeles and Emilee and Jaynine Borders of Minnesota. Mary has seven great-grandchildren surviving her: Sydney and J.P. Cobb, Ethan and Emma Fox, Isiah Royer and Triston Fox and Lucas Kline. She has one surviving sister with whom she visited daily, Ellen (Leroy) Lemons of Zalma, Missouri. Mary also is survived by many friends and extended family members.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Monday at Liley Funeral Home in Marble Hill.

The funeral service will be at 1 p.m. Monday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Kenny Cook officiating. Burial will be in Bollinger County Memorial Park Cemetery near Marble Hill.
