Mary Ellen Emmons, 66, of Cape Girardeau died Sunday, Jan. 28, 2007, at her home.
She was born Oct. 3, 1940, in Blodgett, Mo., daughter of Eugene W. and Mildred M. Angle Emmons.
Emmons had lived in Cape Girardeau since 1948, having moved from Benton, Mo. She was a 1978 charter member of River City Workers of the Blind. She was also a member of Missouri Council of the Blind and TOPS 259. She was of the Baptist belief.
She is survived by a son and daughter-in-law, David and Annette Emmons of Cape Girardeau; three brothers, Stanley, Mick and Donnie Emmons, all of Cape Girardeau; two sisters, Dee Niswonger of Cape Girardeau and Deborah Fisher of Clarksville, Tenn.; two grandchildren, Brittany Ellen Emmons and Kasha Emmons of Cape Girardeau.
She was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and a sister.
Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Sprigg Street Funeral Home.
The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Mark Ramsey officiating. Burial will be in Lorimier Cemetery.
