Mary Ellen Hiett, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center. She was born Jan. 22, 1937, at Delta, daughter of Hubert and Bernice Davenport Snider. She and Harry Hiett were married May 28, 1955, in Delta. Mrs. Hiett was a graduate of Delta High School. She lived at Dexter, Mo., 28 years and had lived in Cape Girardeau 10 years...

Mary Ellen Hiett, 70, of Cape Girardeau died Thursday, Oct. 4, 2007, at Saint Francis Medical Center.

She was born Jan. 22, 1937, at Delta, daughter of Hubert and Bernice Davenport Snider. She and Harry Hiett were married May 28, 1955, in Delta.

Mrs. Hiett was a graduate of Delta High School. She lived at Dexter, Mo., 28 years and had lived in Cape Girardeau 10 years.

She was a member of Cape County Cowboy Church.

Survivors include her husband; a daughter, Jan (Kenny) McFerron of Advance, Mo.; three sons, Randy (Garia) Hiett, Wayne (Pam) Hiett, and Brad (Brenda) Hiett, all of Cape Girardeau; a sister, Eva Lou Black of Creve Coeur, Mo.; seven grandchildren, Ross (Alisa) McFerron, Emily Hiett, Tanner Hiett, Derek (Suzanne) Hiett, Lindsey (Joe) Medley, Brittney Hiett and Josh Hiett; three great-grandchildren, Hunter Hiett, Landen Hiett and Makenzie Medley.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Roger Lynn Hiett; and a brother, Billy Ray Snider.

Friends may call at Ford and Sons Mount Auburn Funeral Home from 4 to 8 p.m. today.

The funeral will be at 1 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Johnny Walters officiating. Burial will be in Cape County Memorial Park.

Memorials may be made to Cape County Cowboy Church Building Fund.
