SCOTT CITY -- Mary C. Eifert, 94, of Scott City, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Fountainbleau Lodge at Cape Girardeau. She was born Aug. 17, 1905, at Commerce, daughter of Oscar and Philomena Witt Caldwell. She and August John Eifert were married June 18, 1921, at Cairo, Ill. He died Feb. 11, 1977...

SCOTT CITY -- Mary C. Eifert, 94, of Scott City, died Sunday, Sept. 26, 1999, at Fountainbleau Lodge at Cape Girardeau.

She was born Aug. 17, 1905, at Commerce, daughter of Oscar and Philomena Witt Caldwell. She and August John Eifert were married June 18, 1921, at Cairo, Ill. He died Feb. 11, 1977.

She worked as a nurses aide at Southeast Missouri Hospital until retiring in 1961. She was a member of the Eisleben Lutheran Church.

Survivors include a daughter, Addie Bea Pinkston of Kelso, a daughter-in-law, Florence Eifert of Scott City; three grandsons; and six great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son, three brothers and three sisters.

Friends may call after 5 p.m. today at Amick-Burnett Funeral Chapel in Scott City.

Funeral will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday at the chapel. The Rev. Barry Pfanstiel will officiate, with burial at Lightner Memorial Cemetery.
