Mary Lou Stroder Eakins, 86, of Jackson passed away Thursday, June 23, 2016, at her daughter's home in Jackson.
She was born Aug. 7, 1929, in Burfordville, daughter of Otis and Aza Helderman Reynolds. She and Richard "Bud" Stroder were married May 26, 1949; he passed away Feb. 6, 1997. She and L.T. Eakins were married Oct. 16, 1998.
Mary attended Cape County Cowboy Church. She worked at the International Shoe Factory in Cape Girardeau, the Jackson Egg Plant and the International Shoe Co. in Jackson. She was a member of the VFW Post 3838 ladies' auxiliary in Cape Girardeau and was a garage-sale diva.
Loving survivors include her husband of 17 years, L.T. Eakins; a son, Steve (Allegra) Stroder of Jackson; a daughter, Patty (Jim) Turner of Jackson; two granddaughters, Jennifer (Joel) Wealer of Owings, Maryland, and Dr. Emily Reisenbichler of Nashville, Tennessee; three great-grandchildren, Jackie, Josie and Jamison Wealer; a stepdaughter, Mary Ruth (Tom) Pepper of Fenton, Missouri; two stepgrandchildren; five great-stepgrandchildren; and a brother, Gary (Mildred) Reynolds of Whitewater.
She was preceded in death by her parents and her first husband.
The visitation will be from 10 a.m. until service time Saturday at the chapel of McCombs Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Jackson.
The funeral service will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home, with the Rev. Don Estes officiating. Interment will be in Russell Heights Cemetery in Jackson.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Saint Francis Hospice or the Humane Society of Southeast Missouri.
