MARY E. SMITH

Funeral service for Mary Elizabeth Smith of Cape Girardeau will be held at 1 p.m. today at Ford and Sons Mt. Auburn Chapel. The Rev. Larry Gallamore will officiate, with burial in Memorial Park.

Friends may call at the funeral home from 11 a.m. to service time.

Smith, 85, died Thursday, Aug. 4, 1994, at Fountainbleau Lodge.

She was born Nov. 24, 1908, at Essex, daughter of Ben and Mary Davis Wilson. She and Oliver P. Smith were married June 3, 1951, in Cape Girardeau. He died Oct. 6, 1979.

Smith had lived here since 1927. She was employed more than 30 years by Cape Girardeau Public Schools, having been principal at Lorimier School many years, and was reading supervisor when she retired in 1972.

She was a member of Grace United Methodist Church and Order of Eastern Star.

Survivors include a sister-in-law, Dot Wilson of Abernathy, Texas.
