Mary E. Chicon

COBDEN, Mo. --Mary E. Chicon, 95, of Peoria, Ill., formerly of Cobden, died Friday, Sept. 23, 2005, at her home.

She was born July 19, 1910, in Cobden, Mo., daughter of Robert M. and Cornelia Smith Childers. She and Walter Chicon were married Nov. 17, 1934, in Jonesboro, Ill.

She was a member of the LaMarsh Baptist Church in Mapleton, Ill., the Eastern Star and the Victoria White Shrine in Pekin, Ill.

Survivors include a son, Jay Chicon of Peoria, Ill.; a sister, Mildred Rawson of Murphysboro, Ill.; and four grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Walter Chicon; and a brother, Charles B. Childers.

Friends may call from 11 a.m. to noon Wednesday at the Lutz and Rendleman Funeral Home in Cobden.

Funeral will be at noon Wednesday at the funeral home with the Rev. Al Campbell officiating. Interment will be in Cobden Cemetery.
